Important Update: CoVid Isolation/Quarantine Protocols
January 12, 2022
Dear Greenwood Lake Families,
Attached to this letter you will find extremely important information reflecting the latest (January 10th) New York State Department of Health guidance related to isolation after CoVid-19 diagnosis, quarantine after exposure to an individual with CoVid-19, and Test to Stay protocols. These changes go into effect TODAY.
If and when additional guidance comes out, our protocols will evolve along with them. I will, of course, continue to update you when that happens.
Along with the new protocols are some other changes that will be going into effect:
Daily Case Summary Emails: The District is moving from a daily case summary to a weekly case summary format. Any individual that wishes to see the daily update of cases can visit the NY CoVid Report Card by visiting: https://schoolcovidreportcard.
Isolation/Quarantine Home Instruction Plan: Now that the quarantine/isolation periods are shorter, we will be updating our plans and will communicate changes to you soon.
We remain committed to safely keeping schools open for in-person instruction. While these changes are taking effect immediately, many other mitigating strategies remain in place, including masking, physical distancing, Merv-13 filtration, increase hand sanitizing & washing, and much more. Further, the expectation of a medical clearance to return after a CoVid diagnosis remains in place; this is to ensure all recovering individuals in our schools are no longer contagious.
**Hard copies of this letter, along with all documents linked below, will be sent home with ALL K-8 students tomorrow, Thursday, Jan 13th.**
