Dianne Connolly Appointed Principal of Greenwood Lake Elementary School
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steven Cohen and the Greenwood Lake Board of Education are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Dianne Connolly as principal of Greenwood Lake Elementary School.
Following a comprehensive search and interview process that included parents, Board of Education members, and staff members, Ms. Connolly was selected based on her many years of experience teaching at the elementary level as well as her strong background in many initiatives we have in place in our District, including Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS), the Reading and Writing Workshop model, Response to Intervention, and Google Apps for Education. In addition, Ms. Connolly comes with high praise for her diligence, strong work ethic, and teacher leadership.
In her career, Ms. Connolly has worked as a preschool teacher, an elementary teacher (kindergarten, first, and sixth grades), instructional technology/STEAM teacher, and most recently as an associate principal for two elementary schools.
She is a graduate of Long Island University’s Educational Leadership program. In addition, she has a Masters in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary College and a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science from Cook College/ Rutgers University.
When asked about her appointment to the position, she stated, “I am thrilled about the opportunity to serve as the instructional leader for the Greenwood Lake Elementary School and am very much looking forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community.”
Ms. Connolly will begin work on August 6th; we will arrange a Meet-and-Greet event prior to the start of school for students, parents, and community members to meet her and welcome her to our District.
