Commissioner Decision - Tuxedo Tuition Dispute

We are pleased to inform you that by decision dated March 17,2016 (copy attached), the New York State Commissioner of Education dismissed in its entirety the appeal filed against us by Tuxedo School District seeking to recover approx. $900,000 of High School tuition they alleged was owed to them by Greenwood Lake for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years. As a result of the dismissal of the appeal, Greenwood Lake does not have to pay any additional tuition.

As you know, we vigorously disputed Tuxedo’s billing and declined to renew our non-resident tuition contract with them. While Tuxedo may seek judicial review of the Commissioner’s decision, it is our hope that this decision will put closure on this unfortunate matter.
