Chorus**
|
Students will be exposed to ensemble singing, vocal technique, development of polyphonic singing style, as well as blending of melodic and harmonic parts. They will be exposed to different genres of music to fulfill their required music component, as well as prepare for continuing study in music.

Band**
|
Concert Band is a performing ensemble made up of students in the 6-8th grade. Students are either continuing their musical study from the elementary level, beginning musical study on a new instrument, or are playing an instrument for the first time.

Lifetime Fitness Activities and Sports
|
Students will learn and develop skills in lifetime sports and fitness activities. These activities can be done individually, in small groups, and can be done throughout your lifetime. Activities and sports will vary and may include offerings such as pickleball, badminton, handball, foursquare, disc golf, and more.

Personal Fitness & Sports
|
In this elective, students will spend a portion of class using dynamic warmup activities that the students have created. Students will then participate in varying physical education activities and sports that promote their personal fitness while working towards individualized fitness goals.

Mini-Economy
|
Would you like to buy a sports car? Would you like to live in a mansion? Create your own money? Name a town? You can make this happen in mini-economy. Design your own business, earn a paycheck, and beat out competitors while learning how money works in this fun elective adventure.

Vex Robotics
|
In this elective, students will engage in different programming and robotic competitions using Vex IQ robots. They will use vex pieces to design, build and test different robots to complete different challenges.

Website Building

Would you be interested in designing your own website based on your favorite interests such as history, science, and more? This will be a project-based course that teaches students how to build their own web pages. Students will create their own websites using Google Sites. If you enjoy technology, this may be for you!

Digital Media 1

This elective will begin to look into the ever-changing world of Digital Media with a focus on Photography. Projects will include, but are not limited to: Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Movie Trailers, and Animation. We will be exploring programs such as Canva, iMovie, and ProCreate. We will also be using your photos for the yearbook.

Advanced Digital Media 2

Did you enjoy the Digital Media Elective? Did you enjoy exploring Photography and the DSLR camera? This elective will look into more advanced photography and digital video projects. We will be exploring different methods of expressing your creativity while exploring different digital art programs and devices.

Design Squad

Students will create and compete in different problem- solving activities. Students will be engaged in hands-on activities, learning to build a bottle rocket, mouse trap cars, bridges, and an egg drop competition.

Family and Consumer Science
|
This elective provides students the opportunity to build self-confidence, character and leadership. Students will work on a variety of projects that promote life skills that may include: nutrition and food preparation, sewing, designing, budgeting and career exploration.
