Greenwood Lake UFSD is pleased to announce the following changes in administration for the upcoming 24-25 school year.

At a recent Board of Education meeting, two administrative positions were eliminated – the Director of Special Education and the Director of Curriculum & Instruction.  In their place, two new positions were created, an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education and an Assistant Principal.

Ms. Amy Petrassi has been promoted to the Assistant Superintendent position, where she will oversee academic programming, instructional methodologies, English language learning, and special education. Ms. Petrassi has worked in Greenwood Lake UFSD since 2003, where she has successfully held the following positions: leave replacement teacher, special education teacher, CSE/CPSE Chairperson, and most recently the Director of Special Education.  Ms. Petrassi has a proven track record of caring deeply about both the students and staff of Greenwood Lake and a work ethic that makes her an invaluable member of the Laker team.

Ms. Stephanie Melo-Ramos was appointed as assistant principal. Ms. Ramos has worked in several school districts where she has taught first grade and bilingual elementary education, served as an Academic Standards Facilitator, and most recently was an Instructional Lead. These positions, along with her demonstrated character and dedication to student-centered learning through the interviewing process, made her the perfect candidate for our newly created assistant principal position. While she will spend most of her time at the middle school, she will certainly also be a familiar face at the elementary school.

We look forward to a successful school year in Greenwood Lake ...where we work, learn, and succeed, together!  #LakerPride
