9-12th Transfer Applications & Considerations
A. Current 8th Grade students / Rising 9th Graders
8th Grade students will be required to select their High School of choice by December 15th. Transfer requests for 8th Grade students will be considered before March 1st.
Between March 1st and June 30th, transfers will only be granted such that an ongoing hardship arises, involving the student’s health or safety; this must be documented/corroborated by the school district. Transfers decisions will be at the discretion of the two Superintendents of Schools.
No transfers will be approved after June 30th. The Receiving District has the right to make plans based upon fall semester enrollment numbers.
B. Current 9th –12th Graders
The Superintendents will consider transfer requests submitted by current 9th-12th grade students before March 1st for the following school year. Between March 1st and June 30th, a transfer will only be considered such that an ongoing hardship arises involving the health or safety of the student, documented/corroborated by the school district. Transfers decisions will be at the discretion of the two Superintendents of Schools.
No transfers will be approved after June 30th
NYS Athletic Association Guidelines Regarding Transfers
Please be advised that the high school selected in grade 9 is considered a student's school of residence. Students who transfer from their school of residence to school another (from Chester to Warwick OR from Warwick to Chester), are subjected to the athletic transfer policy.
