Late yesterday evening, the District learned that a member of the 12-month District staff tested positive for COVID-19 based on diagnostic tests. First contacts of this individual have already been notified. Each positive case serves as an important reminder that we can help stop the spread by following the guidance of the state and local health departments. The most important things you can do: • Make sure your child is wearing a mask. • Make sure your child washes hands frequently. • Keep your child home if they are sick. • Call your primary care provider if you or your child has symptoms.

As you know, the District will be closed Feb. 15-19 for February break. As a reminder, the New York State Department of Health requires that anyone traveling to New York from a non-contiguous state may need to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival. This means that if you travel out-of-state during February break, your child(ren) may not be able to return to school until the required quarantine period has ended. If you have been subject to mandatory quarantine or isolation by the Orange County Department of Health, as a result of Covid-19, you can use this site to request a release that you can provide to your school or employer to show your eligibility to return to school or work.
