Our 6th-grade trip to the Ashokan Center was a complete success. The Ashokan Center is a 385-acre non-profit outdoor education center and nature preserve situated in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. It is New York State's oldest continuously operating outdoor environmental education facility, serving thousands of students annually through hands-on learning experiences.

Patriots Day 26

This year marks 25 years since the events of September 11, 2001. A quarter century later, we gather to honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

We remember the extraordinary courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday civilians who ran toward danger to save others. We also recognize that for many, the sacrifices and injuries of that day continue to this day.

Weclome Back

Welcome back to school. The hallways are always buzzing, and every day brings something completely new. This year is all about leveling up—discovering new interests, taking on bigger challenges, and figuring out who you are alongside a school full of people doing the exact same thing. It’s okay if you feel a mix of excitement and first-day nerves; that just means you’re ready for the adventure. Bring your curiosity, bring your energy, and remember that every teacher and staff member here is in your corner.

Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments, growth, and achievements of our eighth-grade students as they complete an important chapter of their educational journey. The Moving Up Ceremony honors their hard work, dedication, and memories made throughout their time at GWL while recognizing their transition to high school. We applaud our students' success and wish them continued achievement in the years ahead.
